Nutrition society endorses Aloe vera-based drink

THE Nutritional Society of Nigeria (NSN) has endorsed an Aloe vera-based drink, Chivera, marketed by Chi Pharmaceuticals Limited.

Speaking during a courtesy call by top executives of Chi Pharmaceuticals Limited to the head office of the body at Yaba, the National Secretary of the body, Mr. Barth Brai said the idea of a health drink that will provide refreshment and health benefits to the consumers was a welcome development.

Brai noted that consumers deserve the best from manufacturers of consumer goods as most consumers don't read the product information before consumption.

He decried the reckless eating and drinking habits of most consumers who are not conscious of what they eat and drinks, a practice he said has lead to various hitherto foreign diseases like cancer and hypertension becoming rampant in our society.

Marketing Manager of Chi Pharmaceuticals Ltd Mrs Christine Oyewo said that Chi Pharmaceuticals Ltd as a leading name in manufacturing and distribution of both ethical and above the counter drugs decided to launch Chivera health drinks to offer consumer a healthy alternative some drinks in the markets with both long term and short term side effects.

Oyewo highlighted the fact that Chivera and Chivera plus are botanical products which provides specific health benefits like aiding of digestion, enhancing clear skin and reduction of blood cholesterol levels thus guarding against the risk of hypertension and other cardio-vascular diseases.
